You're expected to make daily and weekly quotas by selling "customer appreciation" items which can be difficult when customers just simply don't want it. Manager is a but uptight and will look for any reason possible to be upset about something.
It's an adult super store so unless you're into that stuff I wouldn't recommend working here. The hardest part of the job is Lions den adult locations quotas. The easiest part is working the register. Was this review helpful?
Yes No. Report Share. Small team, you won't work with more than one other person at a time but you mostly work alone. Because you work alone, taking a break is not possible and you must stop eating the entire time customers are in the store. They watch you on cameras all the time to make sure you're doing your job and will call you during a shift to tell you to work if you take a break. They routinely hire outside of the company to fill roles rather than promoting good employees. It is very common to not move up to full time or assistant manager until you're there for several years unless you're lucky.
You are expected to be constantly busy even if you work an 8-hour shift where no customers come in. You get base pay plus commission, but the commission is divided by hours so managers get the Lions den adult locations commission, on top of their salaries and quarterly bonuses. If you move from part-time to full time, expect Lions den adult locations month period where every sales is checked before you can get an extra 8 hours a week and benefits. Pros Good discount, fun job, work alone. Cons No breaks if alone, no movement in company, creepy customers.
Awful management. Constantly slacking off, scheduling herself for minimum full time hours exactly 40 while scheduling part timers at Lions den adult locations hours 29 with little to no coverage to take breaks. Only one working most of the time, for a full 8 hour shift, so taking a break was rarely available in those cases. Absolutely no backup from management, or even higher ups on valid complaints, issues, and concerns. I made a couple friends with my coworkers which was the only good thing to come out of that job.
Pros Fun job, unique job experience, regular customers. I absolutely loved this job. My commission checks were bigger than my salary. This job was extremely far out of my comfort zone when I first started working here. I learned so much and it allowed me to interact with so many different types of people. I would still be there if it had not required me to work overnight hours. I had two teenagers at home and could not leave them alone every weekend. Not the best place for advancement due to so few locations and how wide prewar they are.
They are still updating systems in most stores to bring them out of the late 90s and early s. And overall, the online adult store companies are a true threat to the long term future of the company.

Anyone that walls in the door always leaves happy and satisfied. Great place to chill. Seems like a fun job at first after a little while it becomes just an ordinary part-time retail job. You work by yourself quite a bit. The store is open days a year, expect to work every holidy, even Lions den adult locations, Christmas and New Years. It was a fun job. Felt like a huge family that I hated to leave. Love the owner and all that worked there.

There is a good atmosphere among employees. The managers listen and try to accommodate for personal issues. Jobs at The Lion's Den. Customer Service. Great little company to start out and stretch your bartending chops with. While no day was typical, my days consisted of cleaning, stocking, making sure orders for beer were in place and being delivered on time. Honestly, the hardest part of the job was when dealing with an unruly customer, which was rare.
I really enjoyed working there, and would still be, if I had been receiving a consistent, on time paycheck. Managers are hit or miss on whether they are good or just lazy but the job itself is actually kinda nice and fun most of the time.
The pay is the best in most areas and they will always work with your life to make your job better. Typical day at work consists of selling adult goods to people. You will learn a lot about toys and everything sex. Management can be a little inexperienced and time with the company is valued far more than actual qualification for the position. Co workers are weird, no lies. It's a good weird though. Hardest part of the day is keeping busy, it gets super slow and you can't sit. Most enjoyable part of the job is helping people with their desires and needs, Lions den adult locations people who have medical needs and are super grateful when you can help them.
